RECORD SETTER - Competing against top swimmers from California and Nevada, AquaSol's Mikaela Macklin, 15, swam to several personal best times and achieved a Senior National mark in the Speedo sectional championship meet.
Mikaela Macklin posts new Sr. National time
Five AquaSol USA swim team members competed in the Speedo California-Nevada Sectional Championship meet July 17-20 in Bakersfied against 900 swimmers representing 85 teams.

Mikaela Macklin, 15, swam to her first Junior National qualifying time of 2 minutes, 38.16 seconds in the girls 200-meter breaststroke, putting her in the fourth position for the finals.

In the finals heat, Macklin raced with some of the region's top breaststrokers and took second with a new Senior National qualifying time of 2:36.75, just .76 off this year's Olympic trial cut.

Later in the meet Macklin took sixth with another Junior National qualifying time of 1:14.26 in the 100 breaststroke. She was 19th in the 200 individual medley in a new personal best time of 2:24.47.

Mikaela swam incredibly well and showed tremendous determination, AquaSol coach Steve Skidmore said. Her dedication really paid off for her at sectionals.

Morgan Lloyd, 16, swam in his first sectional championship and posted a personal best time in the 100 butterfly of 1:01.06, and a new Western Zone time of 26.23 seconds in the 50 freestyle race.


Dan Levine, 17, swam a personal best in the 100 freestyle (58.39) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.07).

Lloyd, Levine, Nick Hood and Coleman Goode swam for AquaSol in the 400 freestyle and medley relays.
