November 2008 ~ AquaSol Quartet at Concord meet

CONCORD - Four AquaSol swimmers endured the cold weather and competed in the Terrapin Short Course Senior Trials and Finals meet in Concord Nov. 7-9.

 In order to compete in the senior meet Morgan Lloyd, Mikaela Macklin, Kirstie Sanew and Coleman Goode all had to meet qualifying times.

 Lloyd, 16, hit two new best times and finaled in three races. He took sixth in the 50-yard freestyle race in 22.69 seconds, a USA AAA time standard. Morgan also swam a best time and USA AAA time of 54.08 in the 100 butterfly final and achieved a USA AA time in the 100 free of 52.96.

 Macklin, 16, swam in five finals and earned three new best times, which were also USA AAAA times. She took second in the 200 breaststroke (2 minutes, 19.80 seconds); third in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.60); and sixth in the 100 backstroke (58.92). Macklin also swam USA AAA times in her 400 individual medley (4:38.54); the 100 freestyle (54.64); the 50 free (24.81); and the 200 IM (2:09.62).

 Goode, 17, swam three finals and hit three new best times. He took seventh in the 400 IM with a new USA AA time of 4:23.21, shaving seven seconds off his previous best. That same night Goode achieved a USA AA time in the 1,000 free of 10:31.56. He took six seconds off his 200 breaststroke, meeting a new USA AA time of 2:16.90. He took fifth in that race.

 Sanew competed in three events, earning USA A times in her 200 free (2:09.87); 200 back (2:23.94); and the 200 IM (2:24.86).
