Walnut Creek Aquabears Senior Development Meet October 17-18 Diablo Valley College, Concord Ca Kevin Mertz (14) and Mikaela Fuller(15) attended the meet and each saw two personal best times. Fuller came within 1 second of qualifying for her first USA Sectional Championship in the women's 100 yard free clocking 56.58 chopping 1 second off of her previous best set just a week prior.
Mertz dropped a second from his 500 free time to 4:55.41 also closing in on the sectional cut of 4:53.99. He also went 2:02.24 in the 200 yard fly improving his PR set just a week before by almost 2 seconds. Kevin will be attending the California-Nevada sectional meet in Long Beach December 18-22. "Kevin just had huge drops a week ago and his diligence is continuing to pay off. Mikaela Fuller is one of our hardest workers and it is great that she is so close to competing at such a high level.
