FAQ'S1. How many days will my child be swimming? The "Spring into Summer" and "Summer Clinic" is four days of swimming each week (TBA). The "Pre-Team Summer Clinic" is two days of swimming each week (TBA). 2. What are the swim times for each group? The most current times for our groups are listed on the home page of the website. They are updated weekly. As the pool is shared with the high school, times will adjust during the high school swim season. There may also be days that the pool is used for swim meets or other functions. Sometimes the team swims later in the day or only certain groups may swim. We do not offer make up days for these. We try to give advance notice to our swimmers, but sometimes we have short notice and it is challenging to reach everyone. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Swim times will also change at the end of the school year for the summer. 3. What group will my child be in? How long is my child in the pool? Your child will be placed according to the coach's evaluation. There are three dates (see above) to be assessed. Your child will be placed in a group that will best meet his or her needs. Your child may be moved up (or down) within the groups during the clinic. If you have questions or concerns, please check with the coach. If you have swam with us before, we may place you directly to a group. 4. We have a vacation planned for a couple weeks this summer, will this be an issue? No, we want your family to enjoy summer. Meets are optional and scheduled approximately once a month. This allows more preparation in order to improve. Each child is at a different level and has different goals. Check in with your coach about your child's needs. Meets are available for every level of ability and are seeded according the the swimmer's ability. If you need assistance, please seek out a swim parent to walk you through meet registration 5. Will you be offering a sibling discount? No sibling discounts will be offered. We believe the clinic is a fantastic value for five months of swimming. 6. I only want to swim part of the clinic. Can I prorate for the time I swim only? No, we will not prorate the clinic--whether it is for days missed or starting after the clinic begins. We do not offer refunds. 7. I already belong to USA Swim, can my membership be subtracted from the cost of the clinic? No, the clinic is already a fantastic value for five months of swimming. Our desire is to encourage new swimmers to check out our team and USA Swimming! 8. I'm not sure my child is ready for the team, can I still join? Come out to one of our assessment dates with the coach (see above). We can determine your child's readiness. Your child may need lessons or may need to wait to join our pre-team this summer. They cover practice etiquette, performing the four competitive strokes properly, racing skills, stroke drills, and kicking. Pre-team is offered in June and July. Registration for the summer begins in April. 9. What is the best way to communicate with the team? Contact Us" on our website is the best way to reach the team. We do our best to respond to your inquiry in a timely manner. We also appreciate if you communicate with your coach about extended absences (vacations, illness etc) 10. What about swim meets? Swim meets are optional and are an additional cost not included in the clinic registration. Each meet is approximately $15 -$30 depending on how many days and events the swimmer participates in.
