AquaSol Swims at Husky Meet
Nine members of the USA Swimming AquaSol Swim Team made the trip to Federal Way, Wash., recently to compete in the Husky Swimming Invitational. The invitational played host to 10 collegiate and 40 club teams from all over the western United States.
Jason Williams, 16, had five new personal records: 100 freestyle, 49.56; 200 butterfly, 2:00.04; 100 fly, 52.45 (new AAAA time); 200 Individual Medlay, 2:03.68; 50 free, 23.01.
Mac Guinn, 18, had four PRs: 100 backstroke 56.84; 200 free, 1:46.67; 100 free. 48.56; 50 free, 22.77. Also competing in the 18s was Andrew Coen, who had four PRs: 100 back, 1:02.21; 100 free, 47.69; 200 free 1:46.65; 50 free, 21.81.
Matt Coen, 15, had six PRs: 100 back, 1:01.57; 100 free, 51.09; 100 fly, 57.56; 200 free, 1:53.81; 200 IM 2:06.86.
Grady Lynch, 17, competed in the 100 back and had a time of 1:02.21.
The team of Andrew Coen, Jason Williams, Grady Lynch, and Mac Guinn, combined for a very strong 5th place finish among stiff competition from west coast club teams in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:14.75.
Kyle Covington, 16, had three PRs: 200 back, 2:14.75; 100 fly, 1:02.35; 50 free,25.65.
Rose Christeson, 15, competed in the 50 free with a time of 25.31, and the 100 free at 55.24.
Kaela Marcus, 15, had four new PRs: 100 breast, 1:08.45; 400 IM, 4:53.39; 100 back, 1:06.15; 50 free 26.33 as well as best times in all relays.
Haley Owens, 16, swam in the consolation finals of both the 100 and 200 breastrokes, clocking 1:06.67 and 2:27.09, respectively.
Overall, AquaSol posted 29 lifetime bests at the meet, and five best relay times.
The next meet for the AquaSol Senior group will be the Cal Invitational that will be held the weekend of Jan 19-20 at UC Berkeley.
