AquaSol competes at Solano JC

SUISUN — Young AquaSol swim members performed well at the recent Short Course Junior Olympics held at Solano Community College earlier this month.

Anna Christeson, 14, placed 5th in the 1,650 freestyle in a new AA time and team record of 18:33.22; 7th in the 1,000 (11:10.77) which is also a team record. She also achieved four additional PR’s in the 100 breast (1:19.12), the 50 free (27.22), the 200 free (2:04.81) and the 500 free (5:31.92).

Jayla Somera, 8 placed 8th in the 50 breast (50.77), new AA, 9th in the 25 breast in 23.22, AA. Kyle Pellegrini, 8 placed 7th in the 50 back, 46.69, AA. Riley Carpenter, 8, placed 10th in the 25 back in 22.45.

Molly Covington, 14, swam personal bests in the 200 free (2:05.44), new AA; 100 back (1:10.77); 200 back (2:20.95), new AA. Julia Somera, 13, swam a new PR in the 200 free (2:18.07) and 50 free (29.06). Jaclyn Crevier, 8, swam a new PR in the 25 breast (25.15).

Allison Marcus, 13, swam a new PR in the 100 breast (1:17.12).

“Our younger kids did very well this season with lots of first-time Junior Olympic qualifiers. Todd Pickett and Mike Smith do a good job keeping these kids interested.
