Aquasol competes at Sierra Nevada Junior Olympics

  The Aquasol Swim Team traveled to Redding, California to compete in the Sierra Nevada Summer Long Course Meters Junior Olympic Championships, July 18th to July 21st, 2013.  Aquasol had sixteen members of the team travel to the meet to compete in this trials and finals meet.  Enduring heat of 105+ degrees each day the team showed a lot of heart, determination and pride as they competed over the course of four days!

The 15 - 18 girls, comprised of:  Hannah and Kyle Covington, Marcella Jacquemain, Caffrey Lynch, Jacqueline Nisson and Haley Owens, competed and finished in the top 8 of the following relays:  200 Medley Relay, 7th place; 400 Medley Relay, 6th place; and the 400 Freestyle Relay, 5th place!

Individually, each of the sixteen (16) swimmers swam to at least one best time.  Seven (7) different members of the championship team scored points individually for the team by placing in the top 8 of their respective race!  The team had two members take 1st place in several events:

Haley Owens:  100 breast (1st), 200 breast (1st), 200 IM (3rd)

Kyle Pelligrini:  50 breast (5th), 50 fly (4th)

Gary Woo:  200 back (5th)

Congratulations to all the Aquasol swimmers who competed at the Junior Olympics.  A special thank you to all of the parents who helped with timing, officiating and keeping the swimmers hydrated and cool!  Great team effort!
