Aquasol Senior group competes at JR+ trials & finals meet.
Over the weekend of November 9th & 10th, 2013, the Senior group from Aquasol traveled to Redding, California to compete in a Junior+ trials and finals meet. The meet was fortunate to have incredible weather and had a good draw of swimmers from both California and Oregon. This was the first trials and finals meet of the season and offered a lot great opportunities to get "second" swims for all the swimmers.
Each swimmer competing in the meet earned the opportunity to swim a final at night. Two goals of swimming at night is to swim faster than you did in the morning and/ or to move up a spot from your morning swim. Each swimmer did that swimming faster in the evening then they did in the morning.
During the competition a couple of new cuts were made and a few team records were broken. Congratulations to Kaela Marcus for earning two Scholastic All-American cuts in the 100 (1:05.69) & 200 (2:20.12) Breaststroke! Congratulations also goes to Gary Woo who broke the 13 - 14 Aquasol age group records in the 50 (:24.31) Freestyle, the 100 (:58.08) & 200 (2:06.12) Backstroke and tied the 100 (:51.60) Freestyle.
The team also did a great job in cheering each other on and providing a positive, fun environment for all the group. A great weekend for the Aquasol Swim Team! Wonderful job by all the swimmers and thanks to all the parents for timing and officiating!
