AquaSol alumni Patrick Sammon qualifies for World Aquatic Championships representing Team USA!

USA Swimming's 2025 National Championships is currently being contested June 2, 2025 to June 7, 2025 at the Indiana University Natatorium.  This championship meet is being used as the qualifying meet to select Team USA for the World Aquatic Championships.  The World Aquatic Championships for swimming is being held Saturday, July 26, 2025 through Sunday, August 3, 2025.  The World Aquatic Championships are being held in Singapore!

In order to qualify for Team USA an athlete needs to finish in the top 2 of their respective individual event in the finals at the 2025 National Championships.  They also have the ability to qualify by finishing in the top four in the 100 and 200 freestyles to compete in the 400 and 800 freestyle relays.

On Tuesday at the National Championships, Patrick Sammon dropped 0.31 seconds to post a :47.87 which placed him fourth overall to qualify for the finals.  In finals, competing from lane 6, Patrick dropped another 0.40 seconds to post a time of :47.47 finishing in 2nd place overall!  The second place finish earned him a spot on Team USA!!!

Patrick is also competing in the 200 and 50 freestyle events as well at the National Championships.  

All events can be watched on USA Swimming's live stream app!  They are also posting the events on their telecast so you can watch at a later time.  The coaching staff encourages everyone to watch!  There is some extremely exciting racing going on at the meet!
