AquaSol puts together a strong meet at Summer Sanders Invite!
AquaSol swimmers from the Senior and Gold groups attended and competed in the Summer Sanders Invitational in Roseville, California over the past weekend! This meet is a trials and finals format and competed in long course meters. The meet draws athletes from all over Northern California and Nevada and is a first step in prepping for the upcoming summer long course season.
The team had twelve swimmers representing the team at the competition. Out of the twelve swimmers the team had five the athletes compete in the finals. The finalists were Ava Bui, Kami Jones, Liam Andrews, Cruz Lopez and Lars Osen. Amongst the five athletes they competed in 13 final swims and posted an incredible 13 best times (100%) in those swims!
Congratulations to Lars Osen who set a new team record in the 17 & 18 men's 100 meter butterfly. The record had stood since 2009. He posted a time of :58.05.
Cruz Lopez had a stellar weekend lowering his own team records in the 100 & 200 breaststroke events. In the 100 breaststroke, Cruz posted a 1:03.06 which qualifies him for the U.S. Open and set a new meet record as well. In the 200 breaststroke, Cruz broke 2:20 posting a 2:19.57 which was also a new meet record.
