During the past weekend Aquasol Swim Team raced at the 2014 Sierra Nevada long course meter Junior Olympic Championships at the Roseville Aquatic Center.  This was a trials and finals meet spread out over four days.  The team had twenty three swimmers compete at the meet over the course of the meet!  Overall, the team finished in 20th place.   The team posted a lot of great swims and supported one another throughout the meet!  Following are some highlights of the meet: Finalists for Aquasol: Kyle Lehr (11 & 12...

    Kyle Lehr was selected to the 2014 Age Group Western Zone Team!  He is one of 54 Sierra Nevada swimmers who will represent the LSC as they travel to Federal Way, Washington. The selection was very competitive this year as the LSC received well over 70 applications!   Kyle will travel with the team leaving on Tuesday, August 5th and returning Sunday, August 10th.  This is a five day, trials and finals, long course meters meet that includes teams from all over the western United States!   Congratulatuions Kyle...

  Haley Owens, a member of Aquasol's Senior group, was recently nominated as a member of USA Swimming's 2013 - 2014 Academic All - American Team.  This is the second year in a row for Haley who earned Academic All - American Team honors for the 2012 - 2013 school year.  Congratulations to Haley for all of her hard work both in the classroom and the pool!   In competition, Haley made two qualifying cuts swimming the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.58 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:20.22!   Kaela Marcus, a member of Aquasol's Senior group, was recently nominated as a member of USA Swimming's 2013 - 2014 Academic All - American Team.  Congratulations to Kaela for all of her hard work both in the classroom and the pool!   The criteria for this honor is earn a minimum of a 3.5 GPA in the current academic school year.  Honors, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses earn one extra Grade Point.  In the pool, the student-athlete must have swum a time equal to a Junior National 2011...

Congratulations to Dana Covington!  At the conclusion of the Summer Sanders Invitational this past weekend Dana was signed off on becoming a N3 Starter for USA Swimming.  This is a tremendous accomplishment.  With the new designation Dana is now able to be a starter for any USA Swimming sanctioned meets from our local BB +/- meets to USA Swimmings Olympic Trials!  Congratulations Dana and thank you for all of your help and work while volunteering to be a Meet Official/Starter for Aquasol Swim Team!

Congratulations to Kyle Lehr and Kaela Marcus for setting new team records while competing at our last two long course meets! While competing at the Woodland Long Course meet June 6th - 8th, Kyle Lehr set three new team records in the 11 - 12 age group:  50 lcm Backstroke (:35.26); 200 lcm Freestyle (2:24.83); 400 lcm IM (5:27.63)! Competing at the Summer Sanders Invitational both Kyle Lehr and Kaela Marcus broke a team record.  For the 11 -12 boys, Kyle set a new lcm record in the 200 backstroke...

 Congratulations to Colin Wham (9-10 boys) and Kyle Lehr (11-12 boys) as they both took home the high point award for their age group at last weekend's Davis Swim Meet!

Caitlin Wham, of the Orange Group for the Aquasol Swim Team, broke the 8 & Under 50 Butterfly record not once but twice over the last 3 months.  The record was almost nine years old being set originally back in March of 2005.  The previous mark was :42.16.  At the "Come in From the Cold" swim meet in December, 2013 Caitlin swam a :40.26 to take nearly two seconds off the record!  In February while racing in the rain at Vacaville, Caitlin lowered the record again going a :40.12.  Awesome...

  Over the weekend of February 7th - 9th, the Aquasol Swim Team traveled to Vacaville to race in a three day meet.  Braving the rain and colder weather the team swam very well continuing to improve their technique and racing skills and showed a lot of team spirit! Through all the age groups there were a large number of exceptional swims with two swims standing out from the others.  In the 10 and under age group Logan Peterson broke the team record in the 500 Freestyle posting a time...
